Thessaloniki's new Railway Station is the city's main passenger train station. It is located at the junction of Monastiriou and Anageniseos street and it is accessible both from Monastiriou and Margaropoulou street. The passengers' transportation is facilitated by its seven platforms, while the various commercial stores which operate in the station's premises can offer quality leisure time to its visitors.
The train Station of Thessaloniki provides two (2) parking spaces for cars of wheelchair users. The station's interior is easily accessible since it is found on the same ground level with its exterior. It features automated sliding doors, a ticket office located on a special platform with an access ramp to serve passengers travelling with wheelchairs and a special elevator connecting the ticket / waiting areas with platform 1. Finally the station provides a specially adapted WC for disable people and an optical (special electronic boards) and audible announcement for the trains' arrivals and departures.
